Healing Arts Atlanta launched on the 10th of April at the Carter Center and the Emory Collins School of Public Health. Attended by local arts & health practitioners, cultural leaders, and activists the event sparked discussion around treating racism as a public health issue, and how the arts can play a vital role in supporting health and social equity.
Friday’s event precedes a major convening at Healing Arts Atlanta of city and community leaders on October 7 which will continue meaningful conversations and collaborations which have already begun about mainstreaming the arts in medicine and public health in ways that address our most pressing social concerns.
